A KEEN bargain hunter decided to swap her weekly shop from Tesco to Marks and Spencer’s to see if it came in any cheaper – and people have been left stunned by the results.

Lucy revealed that while some individual items were a little pricer in M&S, the cost of an entire food shop for her and her partner was practically the same.

The content creator, known online as @lucykalice, regularly shares home hacks with her 53,7000 followers.

In a new TikTok reel, she said: “We’ve come to M&S to do our food shop this week, so let’s see if it’s as reasonably priced as everyone says.

“First thing that we saw when we walked in was the Easter Percy Pigs. To be honest, it would be rude not to, so we got some of those.

“Then we went over to the fruit. Look at these grapes, they looked so yummy but I didn’t get them because they were quite pricey.”

During the 51-second video, Lucy is seen putting various items in her trolley, including eggs, salmon fillets, fresh salad, and microwave rice.

She claimed that some items were pricer in M&S, including their roast-in-a-bag chickens.

Online these are £5.90 at Tesco and £9 at Marks and Spencer’s.

She added: “These chicken-in-a-bags were more expensive than Tesco by like a couple of pounds but we do like them.

“Then this was the tomatoes and peppers again. There’s literally none.

“But I did get my hands on some normal cucumber this time.

“Obviously M&S don’t stock all brands. Usually, I have Oatly but I thought I’d give their oat milk a try and see how it is.”

“And this was the mash. I was in mash heaven. Picked up some of this because we obviously have to compare it.”

Lucy was also impressed by the price of M&S’s own brand microwave rice, priced at just 75p per 250g pack.

In Tesco, their own brand version comes in at just 50p.

She continued: “Then I was very impressed with the price of this rice. I think it was 75p per one.

“I have been seeing the M&S cleaning range all over TikTok so I had to check it out and just got some washing-up liquid.”

“In total, it cost us £67.44 which I think is so good and on par with Tesco.”

Fans loved Lucy’s honest review, with the video gaining more than 510 likes and 10,600 views.

In the comments, other TikTok users shared their reactions, with one writing: “Omg I need those Easter Percy’s, so cute!”

Another said: “The problem with M&S is I like all the fancy stuff that only they have and end up spending my paycheck in like 3 days worth of food.”
