A McDonald’s worker has warned customers not to order a “normal coffee” at the restaurant as staff will “always get it wrong.”

Abbie Selby shared a video venting about frustrating things she has to deal with while working at the fast-food chain – including customers being unclear about their orders.

The 20-year-old has now urged customers need to stop ordering a ‘normal coffee’ and claims she finds it frustrating when people aren’t clear about their orders when they place them.

In the video, which has gained more than 17,000 likes, Abbie recreated some of the conversations she’d had with customers at work.

She said: “Hello, welcome to McDonald’s, what can I get for you this morning?”

To which ‘a customer’ responded: “Can I get a double sausage and Egg McMuffin meal with a normal coffee please, love?”

Abbie then tried to explain the coffee options they have – but was interrupted by the customer who didn’t want a “latte or cappuccino” as they reiterated that they just wanted “normal, normal coffee.”

So, she put a white coffee on the order and moments later, the customer arrived very disappointed with their drink.

The customer noted: “Hi, I just came through the drive through and I was given a white coffee when I specifically asked for a black coffee.”

Abbie replied: “Oh, I’m so sorry, that must’ve been my mistake. You said normal coffee so I just thought white coffee.

“So I’ll just get that changed for you.”

McDonald’s workers took to the comments on TikTok agreeing with Abbie about her frustrations, writing: “This is why I work kitchen and not drive-thru or front.”

Another said: “All accurate.”

A third added: “I don’t have time for another coffee to be made but I have time to complain [laughing emoji].”

However, other people suggested she should be asking if they want their coffee black or white.

A user argued: “If they ask for a normal coffee I just say white or black. Problem solved.”

Another penned: “To be fair, calling a black coffee a normal or regular coffee does actually make sense.”
